Draw custom boundaries

While the Property Hub has built-in boundaries for Census tracts, zip codes, City Council districts and County Commission districts, users can also draw their own boundaries.

This feature is useful for filtering parcels down to smaller neighborhoods, school zones, and other community boundaries of interest.

Once the boundaries have been drawn, it will display the number of parcels filtered and details about the selected region’s size and shape.

How to Draw Custom Boundaries

1

Choose the theme

Make sure the theme tab reflects the dataset you want to know more about.

You can also look at the left panel statistics to learn what will be calculated once you've drawn the custom boundary.

2

Set the view to parcels

Make sure your map is set to the Parcel level instead of the Trend level.

Click VIEW PARCELS at the top right corner of the map.

3

Select Draw Boundaries button

On the left panel, click the Draw Boundaries button.

4

Draw your shape on the map

Click each point or corner of the boundary on the map.

5

Close your shape

Once the boundaries are closed, the map and all statistics will filter to that custom area.
